Shoes and Counterfeit Money Create Crazy Car Chase
The Free Lance-Star reported on a crazy car chase that took place in Stafford County earlier this week. Apparently it was all spurred on by a deal over some fancy tennis shoes.
After the tennis shoe transaction went down, the seller of the shoes apparently realized that some of the bills they were given for the shoes were counterfeit. In order to try to recover their property, they started to chase down the buyer of the shoes who had passed the counterfeit money. Frankly, this is where they went wrong. If they had called the police right away, the police hopefully would have been able to track down the counterfeiter and recover the property, and things would have been better.
However, in this case, the person tried to take the law into their own hands and create their own high speed chase for quite a distance. In the end, according to the newspaper article, it sounds like just about everyone involved is charged with some kind of crime, everything ranging from conspiracy to possession of counterfeit bills to possession of drugs. It sounds like there are quite a few offenses that took place on this night. Maybe that’s the reason why the seller didn’t want to call the police to begin with.
