The November 2015 scholarship contest was another huge success! We had over 30 entries to view. This was the second time the scholarship was offered. The first time, there were only two entries. So you can see that the contest has taken off quite a bit. Some of the videos were so well done and creative, it was really hard to narrow it down.
Congratulations to Jackson B., of Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA. Jackson is studying Cinema-Television and now is the winner of $500 to put towards his education. Here is his winning video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9gSoMV8wxw
The goal of the contest was to raise awareness of the dangers of underage drinking and driving. Students were required to create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving. I wanted students to understand that there are more problems than accidents, automobile damage and personal injury. Other consequences include loss of license, jail time and life-long effects on your career and criminal record.
Since the first two contests were so successful, I’m offering another one. For requirements and how to send your video submission, visit my scholarship page. The next deadline is June 30, 2016
